Mission Samaria

Overview

Women are vital members of the family, congregation, and society, contributing significantly to the growth and strength of these areas. Mission Samaria (MS 120) is an interdenominational women’s fellowship conducted under the guidance of Hariyo Khaarka in Kalimpong, starting in February 2023. This fellowship was established by Rev. Dr. Mathusela Limbu, driven by a deep concern for women as bridges of unity, love, and fellowship that foster spiritual growth and nurturing. Since its inception, the fellowship has held four gatherings, with participation growing from 70 to 120 women. Women from various churches in and around Kalimpong meet three times a year at the Multipurpose Centre in Hariyo Kharka, Kalimpong, West Bengal, India.

An Inter-Denominational Women’s Fellowship

Purpose

Our mission is to carry out the Great Commission of the Lord (Matthew 28:16-20). Before we can fulfill this vision, we must first become true disciples of God. A disciple must be committed to God, family, the local church, the universal church, and society. When the Holy Spirit comes, we will be witnesses in Jerusalem, representing our families; in Judea, symbolizing our congregation; and in Samaria, the universal church where people from different congregations come together to worship God in spirit and truth (Acts 1:8). MS 120 (Mission Samaria) is a space where women from various denominations gather to form a greater community of Christ in love and unity. This fellowship helps us discover our higher calling and intentionally become more faithful in carrying out our responsibilities in strengthening our families, churches, and society.

Why MS120?

Jesus’ approach to ministry involved three key strategies: (i) the immediate inner circle, where three people closely accompanied Him, forming the core team; (ii) the twelve disciples, His outer circle, who worked alongside Him as the managing team; and (iii) the later addition of 70, and then 120, believers who formed the broader circle of His ministry. MS 120 follows this model.

Activities

The management team meets monthly for online prayer and gathers in person every three months for fasting, prayer, and discussion. The larger gathering is held once every four months, three times a year. These programs include a balanced mix of:

Anointed Preaching

Praise and Worship

Bible Quizzes

Talent Shows

Testimony Sharing

Intercessory Prayer

Team Structure

Core Team

This team consists of three people who make major decisions.

Management Team

Comprised of 10 women from different denominations, each with specific responsibilities, including: i. Coordinator, ii. Sub-Coordinators for various areas, iii. Prayer Conveners, and iv. Praise and Worship Team.

Bigger Circle

We currently have women participants from 12 different churches, with around 120 women gathering to worship God.

Planning

Present

Currently, our gatherings take place at one location: Hariyo Kharka, Kalimpong, West Bengal, India. We have participants from over 25 denominations, with 12 actively participating. We are working to involve more women from different congregations by inviting key leaders to join the management team.

Future

We envision MS120 becoming a movement that unites women in worship across different regions of India. We also plan to conduct training sessions to promote self-care, self-sustainability, care for God’s people, and good stewardship.

Partnership

God has been faithful in meeting our spiritual needs, and this fellowship has fostered a sense of unity and appreciation for the diverse contributions of different denominations and the valuable work of our leaders in God’s Kingdom. The role and value of women have always been highly regarded by our Lord Jesus Christ. To help this fellowship grow, we seek your participation as prayer partners and support in various ways to make God’s Kingdom more vibrant and purposeful.
